Seymour Road

This traditional Victorian detached property in the Lady Bay area of West Bridgford required modernisation through a complete renovation of the original house and the addition of a large contemporary style extension.

During the first phase of the project, the original house was refurbished, modernising the interior with a complete plumbing and electrical upgrade, new bathrooms, stairway, flooring and decoration throughout. The windows to the property were replaced and upgraded with modern sash windows, in keeping with the Victorian era.

The second phase of the project involved the addition of a gabled, double-height extension with mezzanine level above and an open plan bespoke kitchen, dining area and family space with full height sliding doors leading out onto the rear garden and patio.

The aim was to fuse the character of the original structure with modern contemporary design, incorporating a huge glazed apex window with its design cues taken from the Victorian gables to the front of the original building.
